Chris Martin is no exception to stage falls, as the Coldplay frontman took a tumble at a concert over the weekend.
Martin, 47, spoke to the crowd in Melbourne, Australia, on Saturday while walking backward on stage, seeming not to notice a trapdoor was open. Some people in the crowd appeared to wave their hands to try and get the singer's attention to no avail, with the crowd gasping as he fell.
Crew members inside the trapdoor partially caught Martin, who was not seriously hurt and walked up the other side of the door, thanking the crew before telling the crowd with a laugh that the fall was "not planned."
USA TODAY has reached out to the band's reps for comment.
Coldplay is currently on their long-running "Music of the Spheres" World Tour, which began in Costa Rica in 2022 and is currently touring Australia and New Zealand before shows in Abu Dhabi in 2025.

Martin's fall follows other recent falls, including Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Ian McKellen.
Billie Eilishshows nasty bruise after tripping down stairs during concert
The "Birds of a Feather" singer shared a video on her Instagram story last month that showed her falling on a set of stairs during a recent concert at Madison Square Garden as part of her Hit Me Hard and Soft tour, giving her a nasty bruise on her thigh. In the clip, Eilish is seen descending the stairs while waving to the crowd, but after she begins to increase her pace, she trips and falls forward.
In June, McKellen, 85, fell off the stage during a production of "Player Kings," an adaptation of Shakespeare's "Henry IV." Months later, he revealed he was wearing a neck brace and a splint on his right hand as a result of the fall.
Ian McKellen on lifeafter falling off London stage: 'I don’t go out'
"I've relived that fall I don’t know how many times. It was horrible," McKellen told Saga Magazine. "My chipped vertebrae and fractured wrist are not yet mended. I don't go out because I get nervous in case someone bangs into me, and I've got agonizing pains in my shoulders to do with my whole frame having been jolted."
Olivia Rodrigo shakes offfalling through trapdoor during concert: Watch the moment
And it could be something in the water in Australia, as Rodrigo took a tumble onstage while on her Guts World Tour in Melbourne last month, though the incidents did not take place at the same venue.
As seen in footage shared on social media, the "Obsessed" singer was running back and forth when she fell through a trapdoor on the stage. Without missing a beat, Rodrigo reassured concertgoers she wasn't hurt. "Sometimes there's just a hole in the stage," she said. "That's all right."
